Help - My Screen is Frozen!

The Problem

A number of users have reported that they have got to a certain spot in a lesson and then the slide they are on "freezes". They go back later and find that the lesson freezes in exactly the same spot. What's happening?

When you start a lesson, your browser downloads a number of files behind the scenes to a temporary spot computer on your computer called a "cache". Then your browser uses its version of the the Adobe Flash® Player to "play that movie". If you need to play the movie again, the Flash Player plays that cached file again.

Sometimes, the downloaded file in your cache becomes corrupted. This may be due to a hiccup in your internet connection or some small incompatability between the version of your browser and the version of Flash you are using. In any case, when you try to play this movie again, the Player runs into the same spot in the downloaded cache and freezes again.

So What Do I Do?

There are three things that you can do to resolve this problem and minimize thechanges of it happening again.

  1. Clear your browser's cache
  2. Get the most recent version of your Browser - Most Popular are
  3. Make sure you are using the latest version of the Adobe Flash® Player
